The Kham hat is knitted with natural cream hand spun 100% yak down yarn. The Kham ཁམས་ people live on the southeastern side of the Tibetan world and are about half farmers and half herdsman. The Kham area has dense forest and high grasslands, however the area is most famous for its deep river gorges and diverse languages and dialects.
